I've had my CTL26 for a few months now, and today an accessory arrived. It's part no 496373, 'Accessory Storage'.

Here's my vac:

As some of you more observant types may notice, the cord holder is the wrong way up! I bought this vac used, and it was fitted by the previous owner. Since I was fitting this accessory, I thought I'd sort that too.

Here's the contents, just the tool holder moulding, a bag with 2 machine screws & 2 square nuts, and the (not terribly complicated) instructions:

In order to fit this accessory, the nuts need slotting in behind the little 'skirt' part moulding on the vac; I figured this would be easier upside down. Once inverted, the nuts can be dropped into the little slots. There are 4 fixing points on the vac, only the inner two are needed:

Then the moulding is simply screwed on, using a PH3 driver:

All done! And with the cord holder the right way up, too:

And with some tools attached:

Now at this stage I was a little disappointed - the nozzle accessory as you can see only fits in the outer holes, and sits inside the cord wrap. I figured this would interfere with the cord, and that there wouldn't be enough room for both the nozzle and the cord, but after trying it, it's fine:

Overall I think this is a nice little accessory, and keeps the tools handy for general clean-up. It's possibly more suited to the larger 36 litre version where there is more height, but it's not too bad on the 26 either. For the price, I'd definitely recommend it.

This accessory has a UK list price of £11.40, though it is available from some online dealers at a discount.

It's also available as a set with the 3 nozzles shown above (order 496369) for a UK list of £19.68, though again it can be found cheaper.

Thanks for posting this Jonny, this is on my mental list to buy but somehow I can't seem to remember to actually buy it. [blink]

Now you've said that, I'm sure either Bob or Tom will be calling you shortly for your card number...  [poke]

I really like this rack, too.  I’d recommend getting it with the storage thing that fits inside the hose garage area.  About the best $30 I've spent on Festool stuff
This here:  http://www.festoolusa.com/products/dust-extractors/cleaning-sets/ct-topmount-accessory-storage-3piece-496370.html

Putting the tubes in there, and the nozzles, etc on the back rack freed up a Sortainer I used to keep this junk it.  AND it’s more accessible, faster to get to, and easier to organize.  Buuut, the whole hose won’t nestle in there anymore.

That's the reason I didn't go for that set. I store the hose in there, and with the accessories in the top it just won't go!
