I always check eBay each day for festool gear at discount. Managed to land a few awesome steals over the years.  Anyway, someone is cleaning house, they listed 5-6 today alone.  And the other day, someone unloaded like 15 old style systainers. I wanna buy like 10 more if I could get them at a decent price.  eBay is like the worst place tp buy systainers though. Always expensive.  Just thought I would spread the word.  Good luck.      Sam

Just be careful. A while back it appeared that a bunch of possibly stolen Dominos hit eBay. Try to get serial numbers first and check with Festool prior to order would be my recommendation.

I've noticed many times the Ebay festool listings are higher priced than new from dealer. I don't get it.

Probably because some out there think anything sold on Ebay is a discount/bargain.  Sometimes it is a bargain, sometimes not.  They are people who have not done their homework and may end up paying those higher prices.

Bob

The sellers also try to compensate for the 8% (or whatever it is) Ebay fee.

I dropped by over there to check it out, Not sure I would buy anything festool on ebay...

some of those ebayers are definitely taking crazy pills. A used TS55 recently ended with a purchase price of 550(full retail for a brand new one from an authorized dealer) and it had a $73 shipping price tag. I could go on too with others used festools I've seen go for full or above new retail. Maybe I should start selling my used stuff so I can turn profit on buying new ones for less! Seriously though I find it humorous and bewildering, go figure....

I sold all my old style systainers on UK eBay a while back got very good money for them. The one that shocked me was a polystyrene insert I had that I thought I might get £5 if I was lucky ended up going for £80 :o

I was lucky, I managed to get a brand new TS55 EBQ from e-bay just before Xmas, for £280. It was from a Dealer who was clearing out his old existing stock.

As he was only 20 miles from me , I went and picked it up.

I have since seen second hand ones going for more money, PLUS postage!!!!!

I think the new 55R is selling for around £300 now.

Tim.

just sold my ts55 on ebay uk for £180 and bought the new ts55r for £270  8)

Scored a Five pack of Festool sheepskin buff pads for 19$ about an hour ago!

Seems like any auction on a Quality tool or accessory tends to go well over retail price especially on Festool and Lie Nielsen, but occasionally you can get your hands on a underpriced "Buy It Now" listing; just gotta keep your eyes open  [eek] Very Often!

There is a lot of silly/weird people on ebay , especially when it comes to festool or hilti gear . There is an old style sys4 going for £47 inc delivery , you can buy a sys4 tloc from Anglia for £45 inc delivery .admittedlly it has an insert for ts55 but still crazy . Also seen ts55 2nd hand go for over £300, the same price as a new 55 R . Do these people do no research . Or is it a case of if its on ebay it must be cheaper.

Must be, I just can't  imagine how someone would blindly black a bid on a used item without at the very least googling it. Tonight I just watched a RO 125 sell for over 500$.

It's nice to know in a couple years I can upgrade my festools without any financial losses thanks to eBay!

I got my RO 150 used on eBay and have been very pleased with the purchase... it was a fair savings over getting one new, though I agree that such findings are rare.

Just about any "new" Festool item on eBay winds up costing the same or more than to get it from a non-eBay dealer.
