Rikon 10-325 Bandsaw

Anyone own one of these?  It's between that and a Grizzly G0555x.  Opinions welcomed!!

Have you looked at the 10-351?  While it cost more than the 10-325 and may be more than you want to spend, it provides some awesome upgrades.  You can check out the specs at Rikon, also on the highland woodworking site.  The 3HP power is awesome when it comes to resawing!  Out of the box, I had very minimal tuning to have it set up and running.  It is currently selling far WAY less than when I originally purchased it (let's not go there....)

Rikon from all accounts has great service quality and guarantee program, one more reason I went with the 10-351.

I really can't speak to the Grizzly product.  A lot of people like Grizzly, you get some good bang for your $$$, and sometimes may have to deal with cosmetic or the occasional mechanical issue, but I think those issues are not often in occurrence.

I have had my Rikon 14" for about three years and no problems to date.  I resaw and use with a  device called LIL. RippER to saw boards from short sections of logs

I have a Rikon 10-325 and thing it's great! I spent time on the front end with some setup and lining the guides up and, so far, I get great results resawing. I have not used it as much as I would like, so I cannot tell you how it stands up to heavy use. I just haven't had the time to fit in as much time in the shop as I'd like. I did essentially dump the fence that came with it and use a Carter MagnaFence II. I find that the setup is easy as I can set the fence anyplace on the Rikon's table I wish and lock it down with the magnets on the fence. I would agree that you might want to consider upgrading to the 351, but that all depends on your budget and your planned use. You may not need the extra. The 1 1/2 HP motor on the 325 is adequate to resawing, although you must go with the speed the saw allows you to push it. As for resaw capacity, I believe that both the 325 and 352 are the same - 13" (at least the same so you don't gain anything there).

Bit the bullet and went for the 1 1/2 horse powermatic with 6" riser block.  Not quite double the cost of the grizzly, but 5 year warranty.

I actually just ordered the 10-325 deluxe thru sears!  When you use your card they give you an extra 5% off.  $828 total purchase price not including tax. 

Here's to taking up more space in my garage and squeezing out the truck!
