We entered adulthood together, and you have enriched my entertainment experiences for over four decades since. A great talent lost to us all now.

Rest in Peace oh man from 'Outer Space'.

It it really sad.

Strange how some of the genius comedians of our time live a life of morbid depression ... I can only ponder what goes on behind their eyes.

His quick wit never ceased to amaze me. He could entertain and bewilder all at the same time - and he made it look effortless.

RIP, Mork.

I think everyone has their favorite Robin William routines and movies.

My favorite routine was "The invention of golf" which had me in tears...so funny.
Favorite Movie: Good Morning Vietnam!

A true loss of a brilliant comedian, actor, humanitarian, and supporter of our troops.

RIP

Frank

The Invention of Golf

News of his death really got to me since he's been such a constant in our lives for so long. So gifted, so troubled internally and yet he could bring you to tears of laughter when sharing his pain, medical issues etc, that you forgot how much stress he might be under once off the TV screen or stage. I really hope that all his peers and fellow co-workers of stage and screen put together a Documentary to share what it was like to work and be around him for all of these years.
I still remember the story of him being naked one day on the set of Mork and Mindy, just getting the shock value of his castmates. esp Pam Dawber....
His jokes about his body hair and how Mosquitos would die of exhaustion trying to hack their way to his skin though his 'jungle' of hair just killed me.
His stand up observations of being a parent and what his children were saying to him was particularly touching since he was touching on a universal theme of parenting that really drew you in when he performed it.

Jason Manford (a stand-up comedian here in the UK) posted this on Facebook this morning:

"Mork & Mindy: In Mork We Trust (#1.21)" (1979)

Orson: The report, Mork.

Mork: This week I discovered a terrible disease called loneliness.

Orson: Do many people on Earth suffer from this disease?

Mork: Oh yes sir, and how they suffer. One man I know suffers so much he has to take a medication called bourbon, even that doesn't help very much because then he can hear paint dry.

Orson: Does bed rest help?

Mork: No because I've heard that sleeping alone is part of the problem. You see, Orson, loneliness is a disease of the spirit. People who have it think that no one cares about them.

Orson: Do you have any idea why?

Mork: Yes sir you can count on me. You see, when children are young, they're told not to talk to strangers. When they go to school, they're told not to talk to the person next to them. Finally when they're very old, they're told not to talk to themselves, who's left?

Orson: Are you saying Earthlings make each other lonely?

Mork: No sir I'm saying just the opposite. They make themeslves lonely, they're so busy looking out for number one that there's not enough room for two.

Orson: It's too bad everybody down there can't get together and find a cure.

Mork: Here's the paradox sir because if they did get together, they wouldn't need one.

Seems very apt, and quite moving in the current context.

Also, a very interesting article here on cracked: Robin Williams, and why funny people kill themselves

Even though he was pulling the piss out of my countrymen that invention of golf routine is brilliant.  Such a funny man,,,,,

The Invention of Golf

That entire stand up of this you tube video was awesome.  Splashing of the water bottle due to the blue pill.  And, well, the other explicit jokes.  I had to watch show three or four times because I was laughing too hard from the previous joke to understand the next joke.  Priceless.

This weekend will be an ode to Robin Williams.

We lost a great comedian.  I'm very sad his life ended like this.  I'm lost for words.  He was my favourite comedian.

RIP Robin Williams!

RIP Robin Williams, ver sad to hear he's gone. Always liked him very much, I was very young when Mork & Mindy was on the TV, but already one of my favourite shows back then. Then later we saw him progress to the big screen, and lots of his movies were top notch, as was his performance. A great loss to the industry. I never knew he had all these troubles, so it's a bit of a surprise to read about them now. But we hear this often about great comedians, the manic depression. All full of joy and energy in the middle of the spotlight, lonely and broken on when their own. It is always sad to hear how very succesful people can still be so sad sometimes.

I grew up and live in Rutherford,ca. Robin had a house one town down in the Oakville hills. In Rutherford pop. 350, a one horse town, I know because I had the horse, was
The Corner Bar 9 stools and not much SRO room. I remember in the 80's every once in awhile Robin and his brother Todd stopped in. A truly gifted man.

I was on a line at the Clift hotel in San Fran and robin was on line in front of me the line was moving very slowly so he decided to entertain us. He was so funny with off the cuff remarks that all of us were laughing hysterically. I just heard today that he recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's,
I also had heart surgery and I was Dow for quite some time, after seeing Mohammed Ali and how he is suffering with that disease I empathize with what someone like robin was going thru and that he made a conscience decision to check out,I really hope that he is at peace he certainly deserves it after becoming so disappointed with his life,

Well said, and worth remembering on those 'dark' days we all have from time to time...

Festool for medicinal purposes - whoda thunk it?
