RO 125 FEQ-Plus Not Working

We use  the RO 125 sander here at my work, and recently it simply stopped working. I opened the two access panels on the side of the sander unit, checked voltage across these two points, and it read 120v, so the cord/connections seem to be good. any ideas ?

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your RO 125. It would be best if you call our service department. They can help diagnose the problem and offer assistance in getting it working again. I would not recommend making further attempts to service it yourself for safety reasons. The number for service is on your tool and below in my signature.

Just to inform anyone who is reading....
Contacted Festool, and they said that when the carbon on the brushes wears too low, the sander has an auto-stop feature.....
ordering the replacement parts today, and will post if this is the problem..

Remarkable, you make your first post 10,5 years after joining, asking a question to a guy who hasn't been here for over 8 years. 

My guess is he got his sander back working again after replacing the brushes.  [cool]

My ro125 just stopped dead one day last year. I swapped the brushes over (this often gives a bit more life to a tool that's worn its brushes) but with out a peep of life from it I thought it was probably a more severe issue. But i bought some brushes on ebay for £4 and boom, back in business.  [big grin]

One of the two brushes has a sprung loaded plastic insert which pops forward once the brushes are sufficiently worn (thereby preventing contact with the commutator). If it happens when I am on site, I simply pull the insert and spring out of the carbon brush and carry on using the sander until the new brushes turn up.
