Well, I must have had this table for at least 13 years in various houses. It's just been adopted in one of my rentals and I thought I would give it a little RO 150 treatment.
The table had a few stains on it, quite a scratches and was in a general poor condition. I started out in the aggressive mode and came to the conclusion the table was not THAT bad... So, I dropped the speed to 4 and used Brilliant 80 - as that's all I had to hand.
I was not pushing too much and I ate up 3 sheets of 80, where it had gummed up on the varnish that was on the surface, well I am not too sure if it was varnish or a WAX. After that was gone, the final sheet of 80 went over the table and did a good job. I then brought it up 120, 240 then 320.
I was stunned by how smooth the finish was. The machine left no scratches. To be honest, I think the surface is now better than when I bought it...
I then just painted some oil on to it...
In all, about 30 minutes of work.
I have noticed I have some "green lines" in the wood which I could not sand out. Not sure what/why but it's not budging. It's not a problem.
Paul.
Next projects... rebuild / sand / paint rear door then the soffits for two houses... I'll need a longer hose...
