I know that trying to smooth cement with the Rotex instead of a diamond disk tool is a waste of time – but I wondered whether I might be able to take paint off of the outside of a concrete flowerpot with my Rotex connected to my CTL 26?

It’s only a small job, so I’m tempted to give it a go – but I don’t want to cause any damage to the kit. What do you think?

Damage to the kit? You mean the Rotex? Not gonna happen unless you try to hammer the paint off.

Get some Saphir paper grit 50 and sand away all you like without worries.

Assuming it's a pot, as in round, you may want to use an interface pad. It'll dampen the action somewhat but at least your paper will actually be in contact with the surface.

use a pressure washer with a abrasive feeder. They are amazing. No dust and clean to boot.
