RO90 DX Paper Recommendation?

Picked up a RO90 today but was in a rush and didn't check out the specifics of the test pack, and found out they are insufficient for my current task.

I'm sanding some paint off the stairs, but I notice that the paper selection is somewhat lacking (comparatively).

What's the best of the available RO90 papers for paint? Rubin? Brilliant?

If it's latex paint, I think the best is Granat.

Brilliant works but I think Granat works better. Granat is predominantly what comes with the RO 90.

Was I just not being patient enough with the 40 grit? the SA40 that goes on the delta was far more effective than the Granat...

That seems odd to me, I remove some nasty finishes with Granat.  I have to say it's my favorite Festool abrasive now.

It was partially bad technique, partially impatience, and partially picking a particularly bad spot by dumb luck.
