rocker switch not working for 1400 bit removal

Hi, On my of-1400 router the rachet mech for bit removal does not work. I can still tighten it with the rachet rocker switch, however to remove the bit I need two wrenches now. Is there an easy fix other than service?  It clearly engages to tighten, however to removal of bit mode it will not move to that side. Thanks for any solutions.....Tim ???

One thing to look for is that you don't accidentally press the power switch and lock it on (either accidentally or if in the CMS module).  That will disable the ability to loosen the collet.

Yup, as Peter suggested, your power switch is locked in the on position. This is a safety feature to prevent you from activating the ratchet while the motor is turning. That is also the reason why it locks the ratchet out only in the loosening direction.

Thanks guys, yup eas using it in the router table. of course the switch was still locked on [eek] silly me. It was 1 am trying to get sumtin done.  I am now a happy camper, be well Tim
