I don't charge shipping for Festool, etc., but I recently stopped charging Sales Tax to Texas customers for the products that I handle from Texas, (Festool, CMT, Stabila, VETO PRO PAC, Bully Tools, and a few others).
I just pay the Tax for them myself.
I think it's unfair that my fellow Texans should have to buy their tools from distant lands, for no better reason than to avoid the Lone Star State taxes.
That is why I decided to pay the taxes for them... I make adjustments to every Texan's sale so that I pay the Sales Tax for those brands that Tool Home handles directly, and so that the buyer doesn't get charged for that Tax.
This is a recent decision and I haven't made a formal announcement, mostly because I haven't figured out how to make it happen automatically. I will pay all Texas Sales Taxes so you don't have to. It seems silly to me that Texans can't buy from a Texan.
I also deliver Free in Central Texas. My furthest Free destination so far, from South Austin, has been Kerrville.
