I finished this build yesterday and I want to Thank Ron for his plans. When I first  purchased them I wasn't sure whether or not I was going to build it
But I will say I am glad I did and already have put it to good use cutting up some sheet good for a cabinet job I am doing

Sal

Awesome job Sal  [thumbs up]  What did you end up using as far as making the 20mm holes in the top?  Did you use the LR32 or did you use an MFT top and just copy through?

Bob

Hi Sal, looks great!  Roughly, how much time did it take to build the bench?

Nice bench!

May I ask why you made this cut in the shelf?

thats in the plans . its for the vac

great job.
if iwas working a home or on site for long periods id build one of these

Bob  I used the LR 32 setup with the 1010 and a 3/4 Router bit. I was able to find a plunge router bit with a 1/4 shaft, it worked just fine

Rob Z    start to finish I would say 8 hrs total time

Sal

Sal-thanks.

Now I just have to talk my FoG buddy Steve (Fatroman) into making one as well, and we can  build two at the same time.

Sal-one more question:  Now  that you've used Ron's plans to build this, is there anything you'd change or modify to suit your specific needs for your work?

Rob    I am thinking of adding a handle slot in the lower shelf board , just to male it easier to carry and load into my truck. The top side oppisite the vac opeing I think will work great for me. Other than that this thing is awesome for what I do when it comes down to cutting sheet goods

sal nice you will love using this table... i drilled 2 finger holes in the bottom board to carry to to the van.. works great.

the lr32 makes it very easy and simple to put the holes in it... did my video help or did you not watch it?  just curious about my video on putting the holes in it

Kreg I watched your video and after that felt confident enough to use my Lr32 setup and go for it..

Thanks

Sal

I had a nice phone call with Sal this afternoon.  It's always nice to speak with another member of the FoG.

Thanks for the advice, Sal !

Sal,

Would you mind listing out all the Festools you used to make this?  Also any non-Festool tools.

Cheers,
Steve

Steve

Festool
TS 55 /Assorted Guide Rails
1010 Router / Assorted Guide Rails
LR 32 / LR 32 Rails
ETS 150/3

Non Festool  ( sad to say )
5" Starret Hole Saw in Drill Press
Porta Cable 18 Gauge Brad Nailer
Bosch Jig Saw  ( hasn't died yet )
1/4" solid Carbide Router Bit (Amana)
3/4" Carbide Plunge Bit w 1/4" shaft (Amana)

Some advise on the 5" Hole Saw.  I used 300 RPM on the drill press for this size saw, I also found if you leave one of the 5" plugs in the hole saw it greatly reduces the chatter that this size hole saw produces when being used.

All I can say is this was a great build for me as I now use the UWB on a daily basis.
Have fun with the build

Sal
