Hello Everyone

I have been sent the Rotex 150 in order to write a review and create some projects for the machine. It should come as no suprise to any Festool owner that the Rotex 150 is a superb machine.

Anyone who has had problems with stability with any of the Rotex range should check out my one finger control of the machine. Having bought my Rotex 90 over a year go I am well aware of the quality of the Festool abrasives. What I found particularly good is that those abrasives perform just as well in the larger machine and, of course, last much longer.

Great video as always peter,

Im looking at getting the 125 myself shortly,

Thanks for the bit regarding the electronic patent that festool have,

a mate of mine recently had to cut down 9 oak doors recently with his new festool TS 55 R saw and towards the end he said to me it was struggling, i said in what way? he said it would start fast then straight away slow down.

Your workshop looks like the festool website lol

Peter, A fine demo

It is good that you showed how easy the sander can be controlled.

I think where others have had problems with the jumping around is that they try to guide with too much pressure.
I am sure it takes a learning curve with rotary motion and the elongated barrel grip.
It is hard to explain the principle of direction control.
You have shown, especially, for the uninitiated how subtle the change in pressure is needed.
In fact, it is not noticeable.  I have run my 150 by holding the domed top with left hand and guiding the hose with my right.
I have guided by just slight pressure to the hose itself with almost no down pressure to the top of the sander.

You have shown that very well and I hope those who are having problems get the chance to watch your demo.

Thanks for sharing the video Peter, I'm looking forward to the bench video.

Hi Peter,

Lovely review as always!

I have found the same stable results in the course mode, I find the rotex 150 less stable in the finer mode. How have you found the finer setting?

Regards
Leigh

Great video as always, Peter! I predict that you will grow to enjoy and appreciate this sander even more as you spend more time with it.

Hi Leigh

I was using either 120 or 180 when I did them demo but I have had no stability problems with any grade.

Hi Peter,

It doesn't always happen to me but sometimes in the finer mode the sander will wobble if I don't have a firm grip. In the course rotex mode I have never had a problem. It's a fantastic sander, two of my work friends have seen what mine can do had a trial on it and ordered there own.

Had another look at your ro90 video might have to get that soon the corner pad looks very useful.

I made a coffee table for home out of oak off cuts, and sanded to 400 with the rotex 150 it's still shining and smooth 3 months on.

Hi Leigh

The Rotex 90 is an amazing machine for its size. I bought mine just over a year ago and was really worried as I had not tried it first - nothing to worry about though. I have done several full sized dining tables with it, loads of doors and it is quick and easy to use. The delta sanding function is really useful. I really recommend it.
