Rotex 90 -car polishing?

I'm the proud owner of a Rotex 90 and use it mainly (up to now, exclusively) for sanding. Recently, my better half wonderered, after studying the Festool catalogue, if we couldn't use the Rotex to polish our car. I answered that in the affirmative. But, lazy as i am, i wonder if i can put on the 150mm polishing disc. Does the Rotex 90 have enough 'ooomph' ?

150 mm discs don't fit the Ro 90.

Besides, polishing an entire car with such a small sander is not a joy.

Unless you modified it a little bit like cutting a round piece and sticking velcro backing so it sticks on the ro90 pad. It would definitely do good as finish polisher. I also would find it great as a detail polisher in addition to the proper one

It's not really the right tool for the job.  The pad is too small to do the job efficiently.  The 3mm orbit is a bit too small to perform paint corrections.  If the paint is in bad shape, rotex mode is fine, but you ultimately need to finish down using the orbit mode.  The one thing I have used it for is polishing out headlights.  The small pad is beneficial there.
