Rotex sighting in extreme workspace

I was watching NatGeo's World's Toughest Fixes program last night.  It was an episode covering extreme heights.  One of the jobs was repairing a wind turbine blade (dangling on a rope a few hundred feet in the air) & the guy was using a Rotex to sand down the gelcoat, apply fiberglass to fix a crack, sand it flush, and then paint & sand it smooth.  I thought it was a neat application since they didn't have to lift multiple tools up in the air to get the job done.  They did not show how they ran power to the sander .

Greg, thanks for sharing that tidbit.  I didn't realize that they showed the Rotex on that show but I do know there are several wind turbine companies that use the Rotex.  You can watch a clip of the video on that same page under the video tab.  I didn't realize how big those blades were until I passed one being transported on the interstate once.  They are monstrous!

I think this is just illustrating the need for a back-pack sized CT.  The new "CT Porta" to go with the Mini and Midi.

You would, of course, want to have the integrated vac hose and power cord.  I think 1.5M length should be enough.  I'll be happy to test the protoype.  ;-)
