hello members. my name is don and i have attached photos of a bookstand. the original bookstand was drawn up in the 1760's by Andre Roubo, was approximately 9" x 15" and plain. the attachment is of my rendering (larger, with additional positions and a carving) and a question of how festools quality could have enhanced it and any future project i may consider attempting.

I was, until last week, unaware of the festools brand and have since read about their tools. they seem to me to be a cut above and would like to know more. d

Impressive. I have always loved when people incorporate tree designs into their work.

Welcome...very nice! Looks awesome and you're making us happy with first post and lots of pictures...Wow always says that's the way to start off right.

Welcome to FOG Don, really admire that piece. Took me a while to realize that was one solid board. Without seeing the tools you used when it's hard to say how a Festool could enhance this project beyond perhaps making your sanding less time consuming and dusty. Also if wanting to construct it from 4 boards instead of one the domino could help make the joints stronger. Other than that I feel like the student trying to advise the master.

to everyone in the Festools family, my name is don and i am writing to say thank you for the many views of my piece and the very kind comments.

i am not certain of forum etiquette so i wanted to ensure to say how much i appreciate the interest shown me. i will write again with one or two other pieces and pics. but for now, a cat i call Boz.

thank you again, d.
