Hi
I have a mlcs  dovetail jig and it requires a 5/8" router guide bushing.
Can anyone give me some info as to what i need to purchase in order to make my router work properly for this dovetail jig?
i would prefer using my 1010 router however if i need to i can utilize my 1400
would appreciate the help as i am a newbie

I'm not the right one to answer your question other than i use only the guide bushings that are meant for the OF 1000 (same as 1010) and same for the 1400.  I have tried the US type bushings and for whatever reason, i can never get the inserts to stay put.  They always come unscrewed.  I have even tightened with pliers and they still come loose.  I have tried steel AND brass and they still come lose.

I have never had the bushings that are made for 1010 and 1400 with specific size for each bushing (they are all in mm sizes) come lose.  It is a little mind blowing when I use a bit that is measured in inches with a bushing that is labeled in mm's.  It sometimes takes a few tries to get it right.

I have a set of O-rings I got in the plumbing section of a big box store to elimite this.  Don't remember the exact size, but bring the bushing and ring into the store and you can find an appropriate one.  Place it on the threads so it is compressed by the ring.

That sounds like a good solution.  Why don't O-rings come with the sets?
I've ruined a few of the bushings when they came lose.  That didn't bother me as much as chewing into a good piece of wood. Until i used the wood in a smaller project.  But i guess I am the only one in this world who has done that.  [unsure]

I've never had a bushing come loose.  I use Loctite 242 on the threads if necessary.  It keeps things tight, yet it can easily be taken apart.

I had a black ring that came with my 1010 that i I used a PC bushing with no problem
