Router Guide Bushings for my OF1400

Hi all,

I own a set of Whiteside threaded guide bushing adapters and I thought they were standard size but they just don't quite fit in the 493566 of1400 plate.  I actually thought the plate that came with it was something else and ordered it thinking I had the wrong one that came with the router.

That was the same part so that wasn't the issue.  My question then is what should I get for a guide bushing kit that will work with the 493566 plate?  I want to make sure I talk to someone else using that plate because I love Whiteside and thought those were pretty much standard size.

Any Porter Cable ,CMT ,or Ridgid guide bushings will work

My Leigh guide bushes fit the Festool 493566 guide bush adaptor. I believe they are Porter & Cable type. Perhaps the Whiteside bushes are different?

I had a similar problem with the Whiteside Inlay Kit.  My solution was to "turn down" the threads (using a file and my drill press).

I could not really fault Festool on this, since a woodpecker insert was even smaller.  Maybe the problem is in the combination of Whiteside and Festool?

I have done exactly what you have done - bought the Leigh guide bush adapter for the OF1400 and then went looking for some nice guide bushes to match.

My Whiteside guide bushings fit well, and are tight to get into place.

Great info. My OF 1400 is being shipped as I type, and this is one of the things I have been wondering about.
