      I own your of1400 and of2000 routers.
the of2000 I run only under a table with an incra ls super fence.  after looking for the past year for a lift type mechanism to adjust height, I have all but given up and am ready to sell it and buy another makita.
Dedicated tables  are a very common application for large routers, but it seems festo has largely ignored this.
the ability to adjust height from the top of the table (from the base of the tool) is very important. My
other problems with the of2000 are.
          1.  The spindle lock is not accesable when fully lowered because of the leveling mount.
          2.  No motor brake.  wastes time and is a safety concern.
          3.  Handles should be removable, if the handles contain no triggers or electronics, they serve no purpose under a table besides getting in the way.    this would also allow for the angle of the handles to be adjustable, depending on the working position in relation to the tool.  You could offer 3-4 different angles with gears/teeth to lock them in position letting the end user decide which is most comfortable for their application.    When I tried using my of2000 on my Leigh fmt, the router sits closer to the level of my shoulders, and the handles were angled too far out, stressing my wrists.
In total, i own 6 routers 3,110v i use in the U.S., and 3 220v. i use here in Sweden.  the way of the future with routers is with interchangeable  bases like the bosch 1617evs.system.  One motor, the user chooses which base they want to use, and it takes only 30 seconds to switch between a plunge base and say a twin handle. when needed under a table simply remove the motor, bolt it into a router lift. Unfortunately, it is underpowered for running large dia. panel bits.
Is there any possibility of modifying, or making a kit for sale that would allow for through the base height adjustment for my of2000?  the concerns of locks and brakes are secondary.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
      thanks,
    William.

Hi Spikfot,

At this time Festool doesn't really make a good router for table use.

I haven't done much research but believe if you were to get a CMS from across the pond you could run a Festool router in the CMS table along with the TS saw, jigsaw, etc.

At this time.... and for the near future I don't think we'll be seeing the CMS

Festool is coming out with the OF 2200 and I was told by Bob Marino on this forum it will work in a table and read somewhere it does have a brake. Should be out sometime this spring

Best of Luck

Dan,
I have researched this on and off for almost two years.  I live "across the pond" I've seen and touched the cms, as I have said on other posts, the fence is attached to the table with large mutant wingnuts.  and in my opinion is not at all reflective of the typical high quality engineering of festo.
