Sander for narrow stock

Hi,

What would be the best sander for narrow stock, say 2 inches wide.  I believe a ROS has a tendency to round off the edges.  I recall reading a message from Festool, where they made reference to one of their sanders that is best suited for sanding face frames, and the like.

Also, I just received my Deltex DX93.  Is there a particular reason why the dust port is oval, and the hose of the dust extractor is round ?  The hose does fit on, but it seems a bit unusual.

Thank you.

I have the DTS400 and the ETS125 and thats what I use for narrow stock. I don't have the Deltex but I may work. The oval dust port is on a number of Festool tools and fits the D27 hose.

Let's throw the RTS400 in the game as well.  A nice light little sander that will give you a very nice finish.  Further, the stock pad is fairly rigid to eliminate the rounding effect.

Hi all,

Gotta say, I use my RO150 for face frames without any rounding. That said, I now have a RTS400, so I'll let you know if there's a difference.

Regards,

Rob
