I built this quick for my sanders and abrasives  ( ETS 125, RO 125, RTS 2 and abrasive systainers ) In my thinking I included a top drawer for my hand sanders
I have included a cutlist (PDF) and some photos'
On the cutlist I give credit to Matt Meiser for his formula for calculating size for the sysport
I now know I forgot to add for the 5" Abrasive Promo Systainer I have.  ( the one on top )    [oops]
Measure twice cut once, even in the planning stage  [eek]

nice cart there sal.
i think this is a steath gloat to show off your new domino. [wink]. only kidding, why did you get the domino in a tloc and the assontment in a classic.

I couldn't get the classic Bob Marino had none left

Never mind, at least the glass in the picture is half full.  [embarassed]

I'll give you my classic and insert for my domino and I'll take your t-Loc!  We'll just keep our own dominos!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that need to measure....4 times...to get it right..... ;D

Great sysports. Being made out of wood is a great advantage. I haul a bunch of Festool to the sites I work.

Currently just locking them together and going.... But once on location I find locked together a pain and put them on some cheap plastic shelving to provide quicker access.

Wood offers the ability to create Towers(sysports) that will fit the vehicle and then be able to be moved on to the site.

To that purpose I'm thinking... would having the wooden sysport sit into a wheeled base be worth while for the following reasons.
1. Without wheels permanently attached I could create a docking station...so to say in the Vehicle to it can't roll/shift etc.
2. I could stack them on top of each other once on site... within reason..
3. I could set them in to a wheeled base to get them to the site from the vehicle.
4. When back in the shop or storage area. I have wheels.

Second question

the PDF shows a calculation  that I'm not sure I understand.

Sum of systainers Height Plus # of systainers times 3/4 Equal Cab. height.

So are you saying measure the total stack locked together or each one by it's self.  Can't we just get a table to show systainer 1 =  XX, sys 4 = XX?

Let's say I have a stack that measures 90 inches made up of 10 sys.  then times this by 3/4 to get 75? for cab height...Hmmmm

Or

Total of systainer height (please define how measured) + (number of systainers x 3/4 of an inch (if that this the thickness of the shelf material) = the Cab. height.... now tell me is this OD or ID.

Am I being clear about this?  Please ask me questions.

What you built is great!

I would like to think this needs to be a standing project download as the Festool sysports are great but if they won't fit in the vehicle... we all have to build them to fit our needs.

Cheers,
Steve

Steve    Let me reword what I used to come up with size for sysport

Sum of systainer Heights + Number of systainers * 3/4

Example :
2 # 2 systainers  6 1/4  each
2 # 3 systainers  8 1/2 each
1 #4 systainer    12 1/2

2 * 6 1/4 + 2 * 8 1/2 + 12 1/2 = 42"
5 * 3/4 = 3 /3/4
42 + 3 3/4 +45 3/4

Hope this helps clear thing up for you...I probably should have made myself a little clearer in the PDF

Sal, I think you missed where they teach woodworkers that mistakes are not mistakes... they are done on purpose to test others' ability to detect them.  Or, here's another one... I built the sysport before I got this other systainer.

BTW, did you find the file in 3d warehouse?

No luck with finding the file, and yes I need to modify my mistake excuse more towards a woodworkers understanding of boy did you goof up

try "Portable, folding cutting table" or my user name (pugilato)... remember, what screw up? i did that on purpose.
