Sanding Belt Repair

I have several never used but old sanding belts where the tape holding them together has deteriorated.  Anyone have a cheap solution for still using them as sanding belts.  Would duct tape work?  What do you think?

Can't hurt too much to try, but I think you will need something more durable
than duct tape. The material I remember seeing on some belts reminds me
of a light weight fiberglass cloth.

Belts can get fairly hot during use so I think your duct tape adhesive is gonna
let go before you can say "DOH! I shudda bought a new belt".  [big grin]

He used cloth bias tape from a fabric store and cyanoacrylate (CA) glue.

I think the duct tape might leave a real mess to clean off the sander after it heats and starts come apart.
