Has anyone used the RO150 for finishing hardwood floors?  Also looking at the RS2E.  I have an office I am doing which will be about 150 square feet which will be 3/4" stock, unfinished, and I don't want to deal with the dust over everything.

A few years ago  I did a smaller area with the Rotex and worked out very well. Obviously, a floor sanding unit would be way, way faster and I understaqnd the newer ones have pretty good dust collection. But 150 square feet is still very doable with the Rotex. I would suggest the Cristal papers (depending upon the condition of the floors) and follow up with the Rubin papers.

I recently used my RO 150 FEQ to refinish a floor in my house.  Actually, I used that floor-refinishing experience to review the sander.

The review is posted in the forum.  Just follow this link:

Thanks,

Yep.  Used the RO150 for the edges and the RS400 (triangular-shaped pad) for the corners on my red oak floor.  36, 50 & 80 grits (per Varathane's instructions).

Worked great combined with the big Varathane sander I rented from Lowe's.  That machine isn't the best (compared with the U-sand machine at Home Depot et al), but the dust collection was great!
