They say Coca Cola will clean up a lot of things that are impossible to clean (it has a mild acid in its formula). Personal experience... I had a toilet bowl that was filthy with mineral deposits. Nothing worked until I used a product called Sno Bowl toilet cleaner. Most mineral deposits will dissolve in acid and there are a lot of products out there that have mild acids. You might want to have your water tested to establish what is the nature of the deposits, and then you can take a targeted approach. Any environmental lab in your area can test for hardness (which includes testing for calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium); hardness is actually a calculation that incorporates several tests.
