Saw Helper

Hi All,
I apologize in advance for may be posting in the wrong thread.
I have a couple of questions and was hoping if you folks can guide me.
1. I'm looking to purchase Kapex to cut crown moulding in position as well as all of the other beautiful stuff you can do with it. I wanted to set it up in such way. Kapex on top of MFT Kapex and use sawhelper ultrafence as extension as well as to use saw helpers crown stops. My question to you out there who may have experience with saw helper. Would set up like this work? Will the hight of MFT Kapex be compatible with saw helper extensions?
Also will crown stops work in conjunction with MFT kapex?

2. Do you folks know if saw helper is still in business? I seem to hear that they went out of business? I just tried to email them and their emails bounced back.

My only other solution is to have extensions from Festool and as we've discussed this before they are not as solid as saw helper and they are more money.

If you are looking for a Sawhelper, you probably should be searching locally or on craigslist.  As far as anyone knows they are not producing currently.  One member just recently found one locally.

I use my Kapex with a sawhelper and it works fine.  I like how easy it is to set up, its stability, and accuracy. Though using it for 4 years now, I often want a stand that has a slightly wider table so that it could double as a mini work station as well - kind of like this (http://www.garymkatz.com/ToolReviews/extension_wings.html)  The coupling mechanism is great. It's a bummer the SawTooth folks ran the old AD&E into the ground- don't take it personally, they don't return anyones calls. [wink]

The company that produced the Sawhelper Ultrafence is out of business, they have been for a couple of years now. Your only choice now is to try and find a used one, good luck with that. I don't have the Sawhelper crown stops so I can't comment on them. I have used my Sawhelper Ultrafence with my Kapex on a MFT/Kapex, it works fine.

Well Brice and other guys who have kindly reply to me post, thank you. I guess you're right if they are out of business there is no way I can get my hand on those extensions. Well, I guess my only options to buying Festool extensions which are not as good as saw helper is to build some of my own out of ply.

Yep sawhelper out of business so shop craiglist and good luck, they are worth gold brand new around $500 so a used one can still draw that if not more.

I use GaryKatz method for crown by clamping a 1x6 all the way across the saw table and clamp to sawhelper stand  this way I have support all the way across and it works great !

and I use the Kapex.
