Thinking about getting the Seneca adaptor for the 500 bits in the 700.
Can anyone tell me if the bits function as intended in tye XL 700?
As in, do they match the depth of of cut settings on the 700.  Does the ccutter have the same throw as the 500, cutting the same width hole?

I only want it so I can use the new small "connectors". Want to make sure there isn't something I'm unaware of that would keep that from working before I spend $400 on the small connector set.

I don't have a 500 to compare, and I haven't used the 500 connectors (yet), but I have used the smaller 500 dominoes with the Seneca cutters and adapter, and they work fine; no (bad) surprises.

Thanks.
So, the mortise isn't wider than the 500 dominoes?  It must have the same throw than.  I sort of remember a video by Peter Parfitt warning about having to make  calculation adjustments, but rememebr the punchline, nor can I find thay video again. Maybe I imagined it.

hi Kris,

I have a XL and the Seneca adaptor.

Width
Yes it will cut the width intended
Depth
however when you go down to very small cutter, say 5mm, the depth will have issue.

I have been using it for 5 years + and never have issues.

The small connectors are D8, that is the smallest bit that is available for the 700XL.
So you don't need the adapter.

It works though, down to the 4mm bit, and for infrequent use it's OK.
