I'm in the process of setting up my 2 car garage wood shop and own a pretty good array of Festool products.

I would love some feedback from the community if anyone has equip their shop in the following manner: Install a number of electrical outlets that are wired together through the shop and connect that series of outlets to my CT26 which would provide power to each outlet. I would also run dust collection hose fixed to the walls and use gates to control the distribution of the suction to just the tool in use.  What i envision is various stations, e.g Kapex, MFT, sanding, etc and I would just like to plug in the the available power and DC. Make sense?

thanks for your input.

Hi Garry,

Many thanks for linking the Dust Hub for Jamie.

added later...

I should add that when doing your planning try to get the Dust Hub (or whatever you design) as close to the Kapex as possible and then to keep the run to the CT as short as possible.

I have all my machines going through two extension leads and these are plugged into a master / slave socket which turns on my Karcher vac.

I have something similar to peters dust hub as well.

Here's some photos

So all I do to use a machine is lift the blast gate up for the tool I want to use and then use the tools. The vac fires up and takes the bust from that machine and then turns off when I've finished. It works well and I have a 5m long Festool hose that fits in one of the spare blast gates and I can then use that with my domino or TS55 or just use it with an attachment as a normal vacuumed hose.
