Shop tour video!

It's a little over three years since my first Festool purchase (the TS55 R track saw), and I've finally gotten around to recording a tour of the workshop.

The space I work out of is a 10' x 10' basement "bedroom". Festool gear plays a huge part in maximizing my work area. The system is so clean, compact, and effective; I can't imagine woodworking any other way. I'm grateful to the members on this forum that share shop organization tips/tricks, and I hope with this I can give something back to the community for all the help you've provided me along the way. Special shoutout to [member=8352]erock[/member] for his tips and videos.

Anyhow, enough talk... I said this was a video tour, so here you go. Let me know what you think!

P.S. I'm always eager to share space saving ideas so hit me up anytime if you're struggling to fit a tool in your shop :)

Hi!

Very cool & thanks for sharing! You definitely did a great job in organizing everything and the boom on your dust extractor seems like it was especially made for you workshop!

Kind regards,
Oliver

Ahaha.. yes! I'm so glad it fit :)

Nice video, Kriss.

You always do a great job in your instructional videos, as well.

Good On-Ya Kriss,

Can you tell more about that air filter?
And the shop stool?

Great use of 10' x 10'.

One request - please don't try to dance ... ever again! [wink]

Great video (as always) and an inspiration to anyone with a small workshop space.
I think Festool really is first class when it comes to organisation, compact, versatility, well thought out system etc. as your video clearly demonstrates.

Good stuff!

Great work.  And congrats on keeping your shop so clean!

Awesome video! Just goes to show you that you can make a lot of great project in a small space and while the appeal of a large shop is always there, a little ingenuity and organization can go a long way to creating a great space for working wood.

Sure! I attached a better photo of the air filter. It's nice to have it clean up the air after a day of making sawdust. I've generally heard you should not have it running while you're in the shop, so if that's what you're looking for maybe reconsider. Basically it won't eliminate the need for a good respirator. Anyway, here's a direct link to the unit:http://www.grizzly.com/products/Hanging-Air-Filter-3-Speed/G0738

The Festool multifunction stool (MFH 1000) is definitely a luxury item... and I would probably build it rather than buy again; but nonetheless it's a good, quality stool and I like the storage :)https://www.festool.com/Products/Pages/Product-Detail.aspx?pid=498967

Hope that helped! Let me know if there's anything more specific you wanted addressed.

Cheers!
Kriss

Kriss you do such a great job with your videos and I usually  [smile]pick up some nice tips along the way. I'm probably 2.5 times your age and you sure do a better job than I do, so kudos to you and your skills. Keep up the great work mate. I hope you continue to inspire the next generation of makers like yourself.

This guy is awesome, his videos are great, he is basically a genius if you've seen his work.  If you click on his logo, you can go to his website and purchase a pair of stickers that say toolify.  He doesnt know me or vice versa, but us as a woodworking community can only benefit from more of his ideas.  So 3 dollars is a great investment or sure.  Keep up the great work kriss.    Sam

Aw... Sam, I really appreciate that. Thanks so much!

To the FOG, please don't feel pressured to purchase stickers from me – I mean, if you really want to, then by all means go ahead; but I love all of you either way.

If the stars align and my trip to Festool Connect this year happens as planned, I'll definitely be bringing down a bunch of stickers to give away :)

Great videos!  Thanks for the tour of your shop. You produce some amazing stuff in a small space. Your videos were a contributing factor to choosing my first Festool.

Thanks and keep making the videos

Don't feed your Closet Matt after midnight, don't get him wet either. Bad stuff happens. I don't think they like bright light either!? [eek] [scared] [tongue]
