Should I get the larger hose with the Kapex?

I'm using the Kapex with the standard smaller hose that came with my CT22 -- every few cuts, my Kapex is covered with MDF, so I'm also disconnecting the hose in between cuts to vacuum my Kapex.  Is there a huge difference with the larger hose?

i have used both hoses and the larger one does suck better and get more of the dust.  but you will still have dust around the saw behind the fence, it is just the way it is, unless you get a 4" hose with a jet engine, but you might get sucked in also!!!

My experience has been that the larger hose work better with the Kapex.  If you are cutting MDF, you are getting more Powder than dust.  This Powder tends to float around the blade instead of pushed by the spinning blade into the dust port.  Try cutting MDF with a TS 55 or TS 75 and you will think your CT22 is not working.  Festool dust collection design is fantastic, but MDF is just a real challenge to any collection system.
