Yeehaw, they're up and rockin' 'n rollin'.

Centrotec Festool Accessories @ FP.com

For those of you who know, you'll be excited.  For those of you who don't, Snappy makes some of the most uncompromising accessories in the industry for drilling 'n driving.  Originally they were a defense contractor and as the story goes figured they'd get into something a bit more productive.

We're THRILLED to offer you these accessories.  Just one more aftermarket item to enrich your Fes experience.  Enjoy guys.

Thanks for posting.

Do you think Snappy will offer the hinge center bits separately? I have a few Festool countersink bits so the set wouldn't make sense for me.

Thank you.

The self-centering bits are available separately. McFeeleys and Woodcraft both have them.

Hey Mikey, do you have a link?

I don't know if Snappy offers the individual hinge bits that will fit the centrotec chuck. I do know they have them for use in a regular 1/4" hex shank. I'll email my contact there and see what they come up with.

I'm the proud new owner of a T-18+3 (thanks to Toolnut!).  I just received it last night (thanks Tom and Peter!) and although I haven't put it to work yet, first impressions are high.

I'm wondering what is all the hoopla over CentroTec bits?  I've had the CXS for a while now and it's fast becoming my favorite Festool but I don't own any CentroTec bits.  I just use the keyless chuck.  I understand that it's easier to switch bits with the CentroTec chuck but is it all that much faster than a keyless chuck?  I must be missing something, I don't mean to bash, just looking for someone to enlighten me.

The price of CentroTec bits are astounding.  I wish there were more knock offs out there because I can lose a $20 screwdriver bit faster than I can blink my eyes.  I'm glad to see Snappy is making some

Jim, for hobby use with my CXS I guess the biggest thing is a good chunk of weight off the front of the drill which makes it more balanced.   They are fast to change out.  Supposed to be better runout-wise than a standard hex bit, but honestly if they or someone else made "chuck" that replaced the Centrotec "chuck" for ball-detent hex bits, I'd probably buy one because "standard" overrules "a little better" for my uses.   In the mean time I'll use Centrotec stuff, but not go hog wild buying it.   I have a a set of the Festool brad points, the Snappy cabinet maker set, a set of the Atlas square-drive bits, and a few Festool drive bits.  Probably will pick up some Festool torx bits too since I've been using GRK screws lately.

The Festool 100mm Centrotec T15 492 533 works well for the GRK pocket (pan head) screws.

I got some fro Woodcraft, they have drills that are centrotec. They sell one vix bit in a centroec kit, but I dont know if they sell others, I dont know if that one bit is centrotec
