Solar Panel Pergola

I decided that if I was going to build a pergola, I might as well put some solar panels on it... to save money on panel racking (I was wrong about that - thanks to California earthquake building code!).  - Footings alone cost $3400 to get in place...

But anyway, here's some pics of the project.

Festools used: Ti-15 (great for driving 10" lag screws!), Carvex (profiling the ends of the beams), MFS & OF 1400 (for thinning the oversized beams after the lumber yard misunderstood what I'd asked for), CXS (all other drill/screw needs)

3400$ for 4 footings? Did they make you tie them into bedrock from the Cretaceous???

Probably more like $2500. Forgot that included 2 other slabs for flagpole and planter project

4 foot deep by 2 foot , rebar cage, 32" 6x6 steel sockets embedded 16" in footings to secure posts. California is sue happy, so they overcompensate

They kept hitting oil and had to start again several times [wink]
