Some people think the centrotec installer kit is pricey

I wonder what warrants the expense, besides gloating value.

The tools inside would cost like 300 if you bought the best you could get.

Provides employment, I guess. (I find double basements  and huge "media" rooms equally offensive but I'd lose a fair bit of income if these places didn't exist)

I bought the Centrotec kit last year with the ZOBO set of drill bits included.  Now for the justification mine was pretty shallow but I did have the money and wanted to have all of the bits in one place where I could find them without my usual panic search in my disorganized shop.  The work flow is much easier using the centrotec system in large jobs like dresser assemblies, etc.

Whew!!!  And totally the wrong way to buy tools!
The "leather handles" on the case are a big clue to the skewed priorities on this (admittedly blatant) luxury item.
I'm surprised they didn't mention that the "Swiss pear" wooden case probably smells good too, each time it's opened.

I certainly aint slagging the centrotec kits... I have them myself  [tongue]

I do have a frustration with the Centrotec sets ... All the othe Centrotec stuff you collect that doesn't fit nicely into something [sad]

Centrotec storage components should be far more modular and expandable!!

How disappointing, I was expecting you to say you already have the swiss cabinet!!

Hah! I'd be putting under glass on a wall in the house as a piece of art [wink]

I find it hard to imagine who these tools are aimed at, that collection of tools for 2k in the Swiss pear Blah blah box, looks like an odd assortment of tools you might find at a yard sale.

According to the website the casing and all tools are handmade, further more they can be ordered to custom specs.
Still overpriced i.m.o.

The great thing about this is that it moves money from the bank accounts of the really rich to the craftmen/artisans/in-betweenys that earned some money putting it together.

I bet few people would refuse to take on a luxury kitchen fit for a really rich person.

So lets encourage the people with lots of money to spend it and give the rest of us work and the taxman some extra money from that sector of the population.

Peter

Except those with lots of money tend to be either off-shore or non-dom who claim back the VAT as it leaves the UK on paper only to go to a "workshop" in a Kensington mews house.

Hurray for Oligarchs and their off-spring.

Sadly not convinced by that argument... looking at this 'workshop' it seems the in-betweenys are taking the lions share, and I'm pretty sure in-betweenys will be the loose but accurate job description of most of the really rich people :)

Besides, as the yanks will tell us, no one wants brown kool-aid!!!!

Not sure what the big deal is here, WohnGeist is a high end custom furniture maker - that picture is their show room. Everything is quite expensive in Switzerland, labour, property etc. I don't think their target market is a craftsman

I am not going to knock them if they can sell it - hope there are lots of rich hipsters with nothing better to do with their money good on them
