Hi everyone. This is what I’ve been working on this past few months.
First, this is a clock I made for Christmas gifts this year. It is made from sapele and mango. The Asian character says long life. It was lasered out of wood and I sprayed it gloss black. Thanks to Jeff Belany at lakesuperiorlaser.com for doing the laser work for me at a very reasonable price.
2nd is a jig made for my palm router. I made this to do inlays and banding work. It has an adjustable fence so I can put banding on the edges of some projects. I attached a tiny maglite so I can see what I am doing. The fence is removable so I can also do some free hand work.
3rd is a stand alone box joint jig with a router mounted permanently. It was in one of the woodworking magazines. I added the box with the plexiglass top and a hole on the rear to hook up to my vac.
Last are clamps I use on my drilled work top. I had them made by a friend who’s a machinist. The other clamps are DeWalt clamps that are made for their track saw. I modified them so I can use it both for holding down the track and also I can use it on my work top with the holes. From the factory they didn’t fit in the holes so I cut off the back part that sticks out, welded the leg on and then ground a curve on the back and also ground away the welded part that was blocking it from going into the track. So now I can use it both for above the work piece clamping and for holding the track when I use my DeWalt track saw. Not bad for thirty something bucks for both of them.
Thanks for looking.
Aloha and Happy Holidays to all,
Rob
