Well I was at my local Woodcraft yesterday picking some gifts when I thought might as well make a pass the through the Festool area to see if there was something I couldn't live without. Well to my surprise right before my eyes was an old style centrotec hand driver. I lost my on a job site last year and I don't like the newer style so of course I couldn't buy it fast enough. Funny thing is the part# on the package is for the newer style but who am I to question.

Those are the two different ones? Is that piece on the right one 'stuck' to it?

Yes, on the left is the older version, to which you have to mount the centrotec chuck, the newer one has a fixed collet. (I only have the old version from my centrotec 2008 set).

There was a thread about it a while back, if I recall correctly some people like the way the newer version holds the bits better, others sometimes like to use the rightangle chuck on the handdriver.
