I am looking for a source for a 2 ring binder to keep the newer style Festool manuals in.
You know, like the Kapex little manual.
Somebody must make a binder that holds these things.
It would be nice to keep them all together.
Any ideas?

Not sure if the hole-spacing is standard between Europe and the US, probably not. If it's not, it may be difficult to find a binder with the correct spacing. The simplest solution may be book rings.

You mean the manual's holes are metric too? [huh]

well, duh.

You might want to check out the Festool USA website and when you find the page for your tool, see if there is a PDF file in the support area.  Then you can print it to the size you want, etc.  Or send it to your smartphone.

... and store them in here:

(of course you'd want a FOGtainer instead of what's pictured)

.

I am waiting on my Fogtainer storage units already haha.
I collect Marklin Trains and they have similar binders in some instances.
I was able to find binders for them on my last trip to Germany, I was
since able to find them online.
I was hoping someone already had a source!!

In Europe for size A4 (210 x 297 mm) the standard punching is 2 or 4 holes at distances of 80 mm. I don't know the situation in the USA, but in Europe you can buy professional manual punches with adjustable punch-positions. Leitz is a well known manufacturer.

I just ordered from Empire Imports the Leitz 1075 A5 binder - there was a comment on that product from a Festool owner who indicated the binder was a perfect fit, and should hold 9-11 manuals.

We'll see how it works when it arrives!

(BTW - first post, brand new Festool fan)

My buddy keeps all his in a 2-ring binder from Staples - it's even (a close) green!

Welcome to the FOG!  Thanks for the information.

Take a pic. I have mine stuff in a cabinet. This would come in handy.

Is it just me, or is this thread woefully lacking in pictures so far?

:(

Festool should sell an iPad cover. Apple has done most of the work for them.

In all practicality, iPads/tablets are the easiest thing to keep hundreds of PDF tool manuals right at your finger tips. An iPad fits in a large zip-loc bag if you want to keep it clean. PDFs are searchable, easy to download and transfer, or send to a buddy. The Goodreader app and Adobe Reader App are both excellent at cataloging a ton of PDFs.

I reference tool and service manuals regularly on my iPad. A 300-400 page boat motor service manual is easy to use, click on the desired topic in the table of contents and be swooshed to the page instantly, zoom in and out on diagrams. Paper is used little in my daily life.

+1 the iPad in black with the lime green Smart Cover is more festooly though

Here's a link for the Leitz 1075 A5 binders:

Leitz 1075 A5 Binders - $10.50

On that page, click "Read Reviews".  About half of them specifically reference Festool Manuals! [smile]

Binder looks like this:

Cheers,

P.S.  Glad I saw this thread. Ordering three of the binders myself! [tongue]

I just put them all in a box... to be never looked at again. If I need something from a manual I'll just find the PDF. Translation in manuals is usually just garbage anyway.
