The underside of the cuts is not as smooth as I used to get when cutting melamine board with my TS55. I've tried different depth settings with no luck. Could it be that the blade needs to be replaced. How long does the blades usually last? I've only cut panels out of 2 sheets with the current blade.

Normally your blade should last longer than a few cuts..............Unless you happened to hit something and break a tip.

Pull your blade and check over each tooth
What are you cutting on?  was/ is there nails or screws in the backer?
also if you could post a pick or 2 of what the underside looks like

If the tearout is happening on both sides of the blade, you could have runout in the blade. This does not automatically mean runout in the arbor shaft though. Remove the arbor bolt and inspect the arbor flange and arbor washer for dirt or damage. Also inspect the blade plate. When reinstalling the blade, try rotating the arbor washer alignment keys 180 degrees from their previous position. Also, spin the blade to a different position from where it originally was.

If the tearout is happening on only one side of the blade, then your saw skew adjustment could be off. The blade should be slightly skewed away from the cut at the rear, so you should expect some minor tearout on the off-cut side of the cut. If you are getting tearout on the good side of the cut, then your blade is either parallel to the base, or even skewed inward. There is a procedure on the bottom of page 12 in my Supplemental Manual (Here) that will guide you for setting the skew.
