Spray gun dripping

My Asturo gun is dripping finish from the tip.  I've cleaned the tip and the needle thinking they weren't seated correctly.  I also stretched the spring out behind the needle.  Neither of these fixes worked.  Any suggestions?

Do you have a different set you can throw into it? I am sure if you did, you would have already, but good to eliminate the obvious.

Either something is hanging up the trigger, the product is way to thin for the needle/orifice, but my guess is the needle is worn and no longer seating properly. They do wear out, finish is more abrasive than most realize.

Scott, I haven't done the obvious yet.  I have a second, different sized tip and needle set that I can throw in there.  The finish can't be too thin for the tip size.  I've never had this problem before so something has changed.  I suppose the needle could have worn down, I've never thought of that possibility though.  I am no finisher and so much of what I know has come from mistake after mistake.

Same here. I have to make the same one a couple of times before I forget.

Tom is right, materials are surprisingly abrasive when pressurized/atomized, etc.

Hope its a simple fix.

I mentioned the way to thin because I had the #6 set in my gun. Wanted to do a quick test, the needle would not hold the fluid back once the up was under pressure. I put #3 set in and was good to go. Glad I had the PPS on the gun, otherwise it would have been a real major mess, instead of a major mess.

Yep, sprayers wear out relatively quick. You have to replace the important parts once in a while.
