I'm currently remodeling my bathroom, looking to add a vanity and towel cabinet, and eventually move onto kitchen cabinets but haven't been able to successfully stain/shellac my first project, Maple shop cabinets (the first one I tried with Shellac was blotchy so I left the rest unfinished for now).
So how do I proceed ... do I add a different species of edgebanding, side panels, and doors, buy a different species of veneered plywood, or switch to paint?
FWIW - all my walls are Rafia Cream and I have natural Bamboo floors with Golden Oak doors and trim work. My TV stand and kitchen island are painted Black and they look great but I can't imagine all Black kitchen and pantry cabinets looking good. Perhaps there's a different color that would work well?
What mix do you have in your home? Perhaps you're no longer in your first home and have had several different styles ... do you have a favorite?
