Stainless Steel Face Frame Cup Hinges?

Looking for some guidance - I'm currently putting together plans to build a saltwater aquarium stand and want to utilize European cup hinges for the doors. For obvious reasons, I'm trying to stay with ss hardware; however, I'm having trouble finding ss European hinges designed for face frame construction (frameless varieties appear readily available).

Any direction is much appreciated - thanks!

Try Blum - I have used their ones designed for face-frame cupboard design.

Not sure if they are stainless though.

Thanks Peter - I've also used the Blums on a few normal cabinet projects, but I believe they're nickel or zinc plated which will probably rust over time. The alternative is to go ahead with them and just know that I'll have to replace them every couple of years.

Some background on how I got to this point: the base cabinet of the stand will house a sump, which is essentially a smaller aquarium with an open top that houses filtration equipment. So the inside of the cabinet will be subject to a fair amount of saltwater water exposure - my first idea was to go with boat hardware, but most of the available hinges are butt type and not the look I want. Soss makes a nice SS concealed hinge, but they're for inset doors and my design calls for a 1/2" overlay doors (not to mention that they're about $65 each).

(edited for clarification)

The first time that I did a kitchen with face frame doors I found that Blum were the answer. So, I contacted Blum direct as I could not find a local trade dealer and asked if I could order direct - no problem they said as long it is a minimum order of a pallet load ! They put me onto a dealer not too far away.

If you only need a few, check on Amazon.  I also agree with Tim that the Salice might be an option for you if you like that finish.

Thanks for the replies - I'll check out Salice - titanium could always be an option as well.

Be sure to check the grade of stainless steel... SS316 will resist oxidation than 310. Yes, stainless steel does corrode.

302, 303 or 304 stainless (also known as 18-8 series) is rust/corrosion resistant but not rust/corrosion proof. Use of 316 (greater percentage of molybdenum & nickel) is mandatory around salty ocean air to stave off the corrosion process.

Thanks for the insight, but unfortunately I don't think I have many options on the hardware other than "stainless steel" in the description. Not sure what grade it is, but my thought is it ought to last longer than plain nickel plated units.

On a positive note, though, I did find that there is a face frame adaptor for the ss Sugatsune European cabinet hinges. It took a little digging on the mfr website to find it and my usual online hardware sites don't have it, but after an email to customer service they said they could special order them.

Hey...don't sweat the small stuff.  If you can order the hinges in SST just get it done. Anything in SST is 10 times more impervious to rust/corrosion as opposed to nickel plated metals. Unless of coarse they are a brass/bronze based item and are then nickel plated.

On a similar note...Sugastone manufactures really nice stainless stuff. A bit expensive but very nice.
