Hey all,

I'm setting up shop soon and need to outfit with some key pieces of machinery. I make cabinets and interior trim packages (paneled wainscoting, moldings, etc.).  I know what I'm going to buy for jointer, planer, and panel saw, but I'm still considering options for the other 2 big machines - the shaper/power feeder and wide belt sander. I've heard generally positive things about Steel City's tools, and am wondering if anybody can tell me pro or con about their experiences with the 3hp shaper or the 55225 15Inch/30Inch wide belt sander. Thanks!

I would advise going over to fine woodworking knots forum and doing a search, and you will get a wealth of views.

Sorry I can't speak to the tools you're specifically interested in.  I do have their Drill Press, and based on it's performance I wouldn't hesitate to buy other tools they make.  Good luck with your shop and business.  Not that you asked, have you considered the Festool saw and guiderail / MFT instead of a panel saw, seems that would offer some additional flexibility/portability.

While I don't own the specific machines that you mentioned, I do have a few tools from Steel City.  I think their products are in the league with Powermatic (a little better than Jet and Delta).
