Hi Guys!

Over the weekend I designed a stitchery table for my mother. The design is based on the original
table from Alan Rollinson. I just wanna know what you all think of it [blink], and help me a bit with
the search for some descent wood! At the moment I think it's the most easy to make from MDF and
wrap it in veneer... [scratch chin]

The drawings are made in sketchup, the most wonderfull program [big grin]

If there is anybody who likes to have the drawings, just mail me or reply in the topic!

Nice piece! I'd like to see detail on that secret compartment in the neck when it's built.

Nice looking sewing table Rene, you could make it from solid wood and use the natural grain of the chosen wood as the decorative effect, Birds Eye Maple
panels with Walnut or Sapele shaped/molded parts. Sapele or Walnut would make nice legs and turned column.
Just a thought from me.

Your tables feet don't seem to come out as far as the one shown in the photos leaving me to think your sketched plan looks a bit top heavy.  But your  execution of the sketch could close the difference and balance things out a bit more.  Nice design job though...

Best,
Todd

Thanks guys!

@Rob-GB
That is an interesting combination of wood! And walnut is also easy to turn (the center column). Thanks for that, now looking
for a lumberyard to buy it from ;)

Yeh, I know. The legs are gonna be a bit more wide then shown in the design but I wasn't capable enough to draw it better;)

Thanks for the help!
