STM 1800 and Kapex MFT top

Just wondering if anyone has tried to attach the Kapex MFT top to the STM 1800.  I struggle with my Kapex MFT not being very mobile, as I move around my garage, driveway, house, and back porch on projects.  I love my STM1800, as I roll it all over the place.  Attaching the Kapex MFT to an end similar to what Sedge did in his Festool Live review might be the ticket without having to buy the UG.

Thoughts?

Not sure if you've made a decision at this point, but have you considered building a mobile base for the MFT/3? There are several YouTube videos that show constructing a mobile base. If you fold the legs, the table height is 180mm, so just account for the offset to the surface whatever height you need.

If you want an adjustable height work table with dog holes and you already have the STM you could just make a dog hole top out of MDF or BB plywood.
I don't understand the desire for a mobile base for the MFT.  The MFT can be easily moved around and you can even collapse it to make space.  If you build a mobile base that base will always occupy floor space... can't fold it up.
The STM is height adjustable and folds up.  Just lacks a top.  All you need for a top is a sheet of something sturdy.
I say this all as a guy who likes to overcomplicate things frequently.  When it comes to getting work done I've learned to appreciate the keep it simple philosophy with the Festool equipment.

*edit - just watched the Festool Live video and saw what you're referring too.  You can buy the MFT inserts(just the MDF part with holes).  The whole MFT (even the Kapex version) would add a lot of weight to the end of the STM and it would be too tall to sit on the rails.  Sedge took the STM clip on brackets and attached the MDF top via the wood blocks.  Simple, cheap and effective.

Little late for this but.....

You might be able to mount it. You got to measure to see if its long enough (which I think it is) to be mounted on the 2 supports. You will need to buy the brackets (they call them terminals in EKAT) in order to mount it.

I dont understand why you would want to use your Kapex MFT top rather just make a top for your STM and use your Kapx MFT for something else.
