Just got an email about this ONE TIME ONLY Festool.  It looks pretty interesting to me especially for taking down sheet goods.  The price is a little steep but it folds up into a very compact size.  Space is at a premium in my garage shop Any opinions???

I'm a hobbyist with a very small area in my garage to store all my woodworking stuff.  I was on the fence and after reading the link, I ordered one!  Until I get this, I always have my plywood cut but know, I can cut it with my TS55 and TSO GRS-16, I'll be taking down my sheet goods myself.

Long time reader. First time posting in a long time. I'm also using a very small garage (sloping, center drain) but after hemming and hawing, the clouds parted and light showed the way. I ordered one, too.  [big grin]

[member=65946]foggyideas[/member] thanks for the order. Sounds like it will definitely be useful in your small shop space, especially since it's easy to collapse and store out of the way.

I do plan to order one shortly.  I'm looking forward to seeing how folks adapt the thing to other uses as we all know multifunctional work surfaces are very useful in small shops.

FestoolUSA dropped a new video on April 6th titled "Getting Started: Parallel Guides" so the star of the show is obvious but it does feature the STM 1800 and seeing it use for a little longer (10+ minutes) was the last bit of motivation I needed to get my order in with ToolNut.

Nice video. I preordered one of those tables when they first announced it. For me it will be a game changer

I can't wait to get mine!

I've always been a sawhorse, wood, and foam guy for work that won't work on the MFT/3 so it will be fun.

What is Festool's rational in making this a one time only order?
Why not make it available for purchase once it's available?
Is this their version of a kickstarter?

I think I really could use one in my shop, but feels a bit odd to fork over 1k for something I'm not going to get for another 6 months. :( Is there a cancellation policy?

I had purchased the Vac Sys set for $1800, and felt a little burned by the price dropping to $1400 just a couple months later.
I also invested in the full CMS system to only find out recently that they discontinued them. (unless I'm mistaken)

All that being said, I want one to satisfy my Festool addiction, but need someone to convince me to order or not order one :P

I'm not going to try to convince you one way or the other, but I will point out that you aren't forking over any money until it ships. So not like a kickstarter. I think they just don't want to have to maintain stock, etc... :)

It's not a one time tool in the UK or Europe.....just in the US, for the time being.
I imagine Festool have their reasons for not releasing it for general sale in the US...perhaps they dont think it would be a big seller over there and they are just looking to see how the initial sales of the product go...?

It looks as though the price you guys are being asked to pay on these early orders is pretty good!
The price here in the UK is about £1160,.....Which is about $1463.....Looks like a very good deal to me!

Yes the pricing was good.  I ordered one even though it was a stretch that I will use it to its full possibilities.  Was it a marketing experiment?  We will probably never know whereas Festool's policy has always been to not discuss marketing policy on the internet.

I can't wait to get mine.

I couldn’t resist :) ordered on Sunday.
I can’t wait to see the custom mods or attachments people will start making

I as able to control my addiction until 9:30 on the twelve until anxiety got the best of me.  Then I almost paid with PayPal before I remembered that they take the amount out immediately.  Close call.
