Someone help me with my train of thought...
So what I did to my MFT/3 is I used bench dogs from Woodpeckers with a cross piece to set my MFT/3 fence up against. This method is repeatable to set the fence in the same position every time. This should be a one-time deal for me (at least until I wear my current top out) because I'm a hobbyist who has everything set up in my basement shop. I then measured the distance from the edge of the guiderail to the edge of the fence. I purchased a self-adhesive measuring tape from Kreg and cut the tape where the measurement should be and attached that to the fence. So my limitation is measurements to the left of the guiderail edge to the edge of the fence.
Now on to my question, because I have never used the Kapex extensions. It is my understanding that they will mount to the MFT/3. Does it end up being in the same position every time you connect/disconnect/connect again? It would seem that you should be able to mount the extension on the right side of the MFT/3, then measure the distance from the guiderail edge to the edge of the kapex extension and use a label maker or something and put that number on there. Then, you just add that number to the measurement on the kapex extension, place your stop in the proper position, and voila - measureable and repeatable cuts.
I've been thinking about purchasing the extensions for this, but don't want to if this isn't going to work. (I don't have a Kapex yet to use them with).
