Stuck pixel

There was a power surge by me last night, followed by a half hour or so blackout.  When the power came back on I found a single stuck pixel near the center of my desktop monitor.

Anyone out there have luck fixing stuck pixels (and it's definitely stuck, not dead, tapping the location with my fingernail fixes the pixel for about 5 minutes).

Thanks,

Daniel

Pressing firmly on or near with a fingernail can sometimes work. Use your nail to work across the pixel.

Thanks, Shane.

I tried that with no luck.  I'm running UnDeadPixel now to see if it will clear up overnight.

I'm open to any other suggestion.

And wouldn't you know I'm only a few days out of warranty.  To bad my monitor isn't made by Festool, I bet they would say send it back anyway.

Did you ever get that pixel back?

Seeing as it was probably caused by a voltage spike, and not physical damage, it's unlikely it's going to come back. The transistor for that pixel, or part of it, probably burned out. =(

It's amazing we spend all this money on equipment, but never think to protect it with AC line conditioners. We slap a cheap surge protector, or, at best a UPS and completely forget how temperamental our power grid is.

I did get it back, I ran UnDead Pixel for about 2 weeks before it finally resolved the issue.

Maybe you needed a small blue and green can of Paul-Marcel's New and Improved Southwestern Puck and Pixel Grease...
