Hi All,

Reading the Festool catalog I see the Surfix system.

I have some cabinet boxes to finish how practical is it to use the One Step oil to finish the insides of the Cabinets. I'll be using Maple Plywood.

I have priced out Pre-finished Maple Plywood. In our area around $84.00 a sheet.

Maple ply $40.00 a sheet unfinished.

Melamine is around $35.00 a sheet.

Thank you

Phil

I can't think of any occasion when it is a good idea to finish the inside of something with an oil finish. The lack of ventilation can make the oil can go rancid and make a horrible musty smell.

I don't think oil is a good idea. For a wipe-on finish, I suggest a wiping poly--not a gel, but a liquid, like the Minwax product. Goes on easy with a rag and dries quickly. I use it on drawers as well, if they will be subject to some abuse.
