I'm wondering whether to trade my TSC55 with a mate who has a TS55. He's offered to pay me the difference. Not sure if I'll see the benefit of the cordless aspect really given that I work from a workshop not a worksite. Plus I would like to have my vacuum come on automatically which can't happen with the TSC55 for obvious reasons.

Any good reason why we shouldn't go ahead and make our part exchange?

I only work in a home shop and cant imagine why I would want/need any power tools that I would want dust collection on to be cordless. I considered a TSC 55 IN ADDITION to my TS 55 to take with me when I needed to break down sheet goods in the parking lot of a lumber yard that doesnt cut sheets down for you since I dont have a truck, but even that would be in addition and I wouldnt want to get rid of my corded track saw.

I actually prefer the function of the TSC to the normal TS55.  In my experience it cut better under load than the corded.  I ended up selling my corded version after using the TSC for a few months.

And I like the freedom of not having to hook up the vac and just make a quick cut without worrying about cords and hoses getting in the way or catching on the rail.  This is true whether I'm working from home or on site.

I agree with this - love the TSC. I think it is more powerful than the corded - does not seem to slow down at all and the batteries last a good while, even cutting solid wood.

Maybe do a saw swap for just a week or two as a "test the waters" approach?

You can always order the remote for the vacuum from Rick C.

Metabo is coming out with a (also battery powered if I am not mistaken) vacuum where by scratching/shaking the hose it will power itself on. Perhaps that would be a good vacuum for the TSC55 users among us.
