I recently purchased a couple of Metabo drills an impact driver and torch with 4 batteries on a good deal. All of this including 2 chargers, 4 batteries, angle attachment and systainer came in at well below the price of the small festool drill with 1 battery !!!

It all came in 2 separate blown plastic boxes though, which is why I got the systainer to fit it all in.

I had some white foam ( ethafoam I think) from some packaging and some blue foam which is quite dense, for seats and stuff.
I just stuck the white foam to the sides with double sided tape and then just hacked at the blue foam with a scalpel untill it all fitted well.

Quick review on the drills and impact driver.

All very good, the impact driver is remarkably powerful and the drills are great, they lack ultimate torque but are great for 90% of the drilling and driving I do. The angle attachment is really well made and works very well.
Also the torch is handy as it is really small, only just bigger than the battery.

Well if you are referring to the CXS, it actually comes with two batteries!

But your point is well made. I have three Metabo drills and a belt sander. Two of the drills are over ten years old which proves they are quality units. It is a pity though that this excellent brand is increasing its non-German production.
