SYS-CART Base alternatives

I'm looking for a set of cleats of sort, that I can mount onto my van floor and slide a lock into place to affix a stack of systainers to the van floor, does someone make something like this? I don't really have the space for a full racking system, so I'm just hoping I can secure a stack for transport.

Hoping for something like a SYS-CART base, but without the bulk.

I have both L-track and E-track, but I'm kinda looking at putting it smack dab in the middle of the floor. It'll be the first thing I take out, so being able to secure the stack alone means I won't have a spiderweb of tie downs to deal with.

I think I've seen someone rip a lid off and screw it into the floor, since it's cheaper than a SYS-CART.

Hoping for something a wee bit more low-profile though.

You could make a ‘docking station’ for the Syscart pretty easily.  Just fashion a side wraparound ledger based plywood dock to capture the outside edges and a dowel slid in across the front - low cost and would do the job easily.

I’m thinking of L track on the walls and building some light weight carts to drop the systainer into? The systainer are small but after a while they proliferate. Festool with their new Sys3 boxes have a new way to lock in the cases for a mobile solution.

Have you looked at the Milwaukee Packout system? Most all my Festool lives in Systainer's but everything that is less fragile lives in Packout's that are far larger than Systainer's which allows easier organization, meaning I can throw everything into one tool box.

L-track is good stuff. I prefer it over E-track. Put a couple rows countersunk into the floor too.

Would you want that mounted in the middle of your van floor? To step on and trip over? Possibly kicking and breaking the blue locking tabs off?

With a ratcheting tie down sewn onto a couple of anchors there could be lots of options.

Make two plates with cut outs similar to this one that only would only have one dog bone cut out and be a few centimeters across. Could be done easily with a router, or even a drill and a jig saw. I've used these before, they're made by Ancra for motorcycles. They bolt to the floor and the hook & eye part is a quick disconnect. So, once the straps and hook & eye are removed, you're left with a shallow rounded mount that you will not trip over or stub your toes on.

Ya, depending upon the diameter of the attachment and the width of the structural ribbing in the floor, they may be able to nestle down inside the ribbing and be flush or close to flush with the floor surface.  Now that would be a nice situation.  [smile]

Guess I am used to most vans having a wood floor which is what I was thinking when I suggested countersinking it.

I have seen various versions of more or less this same idea on both etsy and ebay. you can find both 2 styles, one style are 4 feet which would allow you to attach something to the top of a systainer (just like the feet on the bottom of a systainer). The other style would be some sort of bracket that either accepts the feet on the bottom of the systainer, as well as latches that grab the tabs on the side of the systainer like the top of a CT vac. You can find many different sets, here are some examples, i think you could find a set that is affordable enough to at least try out. i would assume they get mounted to a piece of ply or something in the van.
