Systainer 3 Attic Lid Shallower than T-LOC

With the systainer.store black friday sale, I figured I would pick up a new Sys3 attic lid systainer.  Not having the whole thing dump out on me whenever I forget to close the lid seemed like a win.

Unfortunately, the attic lid is much shallower on the new Sys3 than on the T-LOC.  With the new attic lids, the recess is flush with the handle's recess, so the top of the systainer is comparably smooth.  On the old T-LOC attic lids, the attic portion was deeper than the handle recess.  I measured the top of the dividers at 16mm, vs. 24mm.  That's enough that my screwdriver bit set and a few other odds and ends that I would keep on top of my drill or toolbox don't actually fit anymore.

I figured I would make this post so that if someone else is thinking of the sweet new catch mechanism, they would know before buying one if they actually need the depth.

I've never had the T-Loc version but the SYS3 will dump everything in the attic on the floor if you don't remember to click it closed and secure... Sometimes, more than once!

Too bad that it is shallower. Trade off I guess is that it doesn't intrude on inside height as much as the T-Loc version. I've had tight fits where this would make a difference.

I also like that all the dividers come out, allowing more configurations and broader / wider items to fit in the lid.

The lid snapping shut is a good thing.  On the T-Loc I did this to help prevent accidental dumping.
