Great idea - a few suggestions:
- I'd prefer a color other than White. Partly due to the fact that it doesn't really look that great next to the Festool systainer base color but mostly because I could just see these start to look grimy over time from all of the handling. If they were a Grey or a Black they would look better imo and stay that way for the longterm.
- The flat backs that slide into the Systainer's ID "slots" - if they were full-height, seems like there would be less movement of the smaller accessories. For instance, as they are currently, seems like they could shift and rise a bit while inserting the levels and in general just feel a bit less custom than if they fit snugly into the slots with zero play.
- Your small box should be advertised as a cell phone holder - that's the perfect use for it. Possibly make it a bit deeper.
- Re-design the small box with rounded bottom - grabbing screws from it would be a pain with the square profile it currently has.
- I'd prefer not to have my rails rubber strips exposed, my preference would be for the rails to be back to back. Your clips could easily be designed to allow this. A side benefit - it'd be a very professional look with the rails in all of their green strip/anodized aluminum Festool glory cleanly mounted to your stack of cases.
- Why not have the guide rail holder be one-piece straddle design spanning both ID slots at once? If you've got to insert them from the top, there's no upside to having them seperate and that would give you more real estate on them to accept the (as mentioned below) clamp holders, pencil, tape holders, etc.
- Your small inserts to keep the level and the guide rails supported at the bottom: perhaps design a bit of a spring or angle to the legs so that they "clip" into place as opposed to simply dropping into place and possibly sliding left to right with any movement of the rolling cart.
- The level holders - might as well add a few pencil holes to each side as well as a tape measure bar to those as well. Almost makes more sense than having them molded into the guide rail holders.
- On that note - what would be handy for the guide rail holders is a couple slots on either side that would securely hold the festool 6" clamps.
- Another idea: I could see some utility for a caulk gun holder (with tube of caulk inserted). the slip-in holder could be elongated and "supported" with a built-in tab that supported it from the Systainer's side, and could be designed with a cove shape to accept a simple 10-12" length of PVC with an end cap to disallow any drippage issues. You could sell it as a complete assembly, with the PVC tube and end cap already assembled.
Good luck with your venture.
